About  the Author

Anne is a missionary and graduate of the Metro Atlanta Seminary. She celebrates a passionate love for God’s Word and the gift to share it. Her call to teach, write, and encourage women from scripture was born of a discipleship model established by Open Heaven's Ministries, Inc., of which she served as co-founder and vice president between 2004 and 2020. The no-frills model included teaching scripture and leading by example – period. Although the publishing journey has broadened her base, her call remains unchanged. Her continuing mission is to grow others in faith and practice through the systematic study of God’s Word.

Anne desires that women know God in real-time. Her teaching is passionate, practical, and purposeful, which leads to a deeper faith in God. She wants women to know that His love can heal their wounds and redeem their past.  That’s why in addition to getting her studies into the hands of ordinary women, she has the vision to reach women in prisons and rehab facilities, etc. That’s anywhere women are hungry to know God and grow their faith through study. Since finances do not always match that desire, she is determined to partner with her readers to reach that goal. Her website offers a “Get One Give One” platform for women to purchase a book(s) for someone less fortunate than themselves. The distribution and costs associated with this outreach will be governed by Open Heavens Ministry, LLC, a nonprofit ministry established for that sole purpose.

Ministry:

Anne is not new to ministry, having served on foreign and domestic soil since 2004. She has taught Bible College classes, led inner-city Bible studies, established Laundry Love, launched feeding ministries, established clothes closets for the homeless, aided in church planting, and led discipleship classes. She welcomes a challenge and has enjoyed spirit-led evangelism complete with curbside prayer, preaching, and teaching. Anne and her husband, Jimmy, have used life’s circumstances to build a bridge for the Gospel. They have lived and ministered in five southern states, Mexico, and Jerusalem, Israel.

Writing And Teaching:

Her more traditional work includes writing, developing, and teaching Bible curriculum and studies as well as women’s retreats and conferences. In the conventional setting, she has served as a women’s ministry leader and facilitated countless small groups at home and abroad. Additionally, Anne has trained and mentored women who will serve as wives to tomorrow’s pastors and missionaries, should the Lord tarry. Lastly, she has spearheaded intercessory prayer ministry and served as a community pastor in mid-town Atlanta.

On A Personal Note:

After 16 years of missionary service, she and her husband have returned to Auburn, Alabama. It's a sweet homecoming because their initial call to Auburn launched a vibrant college ministry on its campus. To date, former students passionately serve the Lord in their ministry endeavors worldwide.

Anne and Jimmy have a blended family of grown children sprinkled throughout the southeast. They include five sons, one daughter, a daughter-in-law, and three energetic grandchildren - two boys and one girl.

What We Believe:

We believe in the Apostles’ Creed and hold to the tenants of the confessional church. That means:

We believe in one God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ (God the Son and the second member of the Trinity) is the living Word conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe He was born to die for sins of the world and lived a sinless life, dwelling among men to show us the Father as He was preparing to do so.

According to the Scriptures, we believe that Jesus was entirely God and fully man and that He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins.

We believe that He conquered the grave on the third day, arose from the dead, and defeated Satan. Then, we believe that He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God. There He makes intercession for us as our High Priest.

We believe that faith is a gift from God and that He is the sustainer of it. We believe that He alone has the power to save and knows who will come to faith. We believe that His indwelling Spirit abides with us, seals His Word in our hearts, and brings it to performance in our lives. We believe, too, that His Spirit teaches us the truth and governs our growth to that end. So, too, we believe that His Spirit convicts us of sin and prompts us to repent and seek reconciliation with God.  We believe that in Him, we are new creatures in Christ and recipients of divine grace and gifts which enrich the church by God’s grace and for His glory. We believe that His Spirit testifies with our spirit that we belong to Him, thereby giving us the surety of pardon and hope of the promised resurrection, and we joyfully await that day.

We believe that as the Word promises, we will be with Him throughout eternity. And for that, we are grateful. We will not only be with Jesus, but in His likeness, we shall dwell in His presence forever.

We believe that He is coming again. But, until that day, we believe that He continues to save and has good works prepared for us from before the foundation of the world and desires that we should walk in them, thereby bringing honor to the name of Jesus.
